I got this invitation in one of my emails inviting me to a little cultural weekend at Duke but as I was looking at the Q and A's about this event i noticed a question said "Does this invitation mean I've been admitted to Duke?" .. the response effectively said "Your chances of being accepted are excellent"

I was wondering if this is really good news or nothing to hype up.. has anyone gotten a similar message?

Congrats! People who got this last year, got accepted to Duke.

When did you get the email?

Why are they always so ambiguous about this.

You are in. Period.

They are teasing you. Maybe they are reading this thread and teasing me.

I’m onto your games, Duke Admissions Office!!! And I won’t stand for it!

is sitting down

@makingithappen Thanks, and got the email last night

@philovist you think so? I appreciate the reassurance

I got the email too. It sounded like a likely letter with an invitation to visit.

I got the email! But I also received a “likely letter” 7 days prior from my admissions counselor at Duke. Is anyone else going to the BSAI program?

@klee1195 what did the likely letter look like?

I got two actually @brooksbrother, is that weird? One was handwritten from my admissions counselor for my state and that came in late February. Today I got a second telling me about Duke Blue Devil Days and how so long as I my grades stay up between now and admissions date they will except me.

I got the invitation also

You should go. I got accepted and had a fun time. It’s one of the only programs that allow you to visit a school for more than two days.

@carltonb17 was everyone accepted who attended and what were some of the activities?

@alargeblackman14 are you going?

Do you guys know if we would be staying in hotels or in the dorms while we’re there

You stay with a host on campus. Activities were fun and a lot of free shirts

I went last year! It really fun, you meet a lot of cool people, and there are plenty of events in the day and night!! All of the people that I know who got the letter were eventually accepted!

Congrats again on the likely!

Do any of you know if they pay for anything? I got similar invitations to WashU and Cornell and they’re paying for airfare. I haven’t seen anything on the Duke invitation that really discusses money one way or the other.

Honestly I really want to but I don’t think I can just miss 4 days because I go to a prep school…:/

I could’ve sworn there was a section on financial assistance…

They pay for everything
