When I applied to UCs in HS, I got into a good UC. I was excited and committed my enrollment to the UC, however, was ultimately not able to attend in the end due to familial reasons.
I never rescinded my commitment, however. Instead, I just committed to a CSU and started attending. I believe I may owe a fee to the UC, however I have lost access to my account for the portal and am unable to pay it.
I am now in a different position, and want to retry my chances for this UC. Is it possible that I will be automatically filtered out for my previous interactions with the school?
Thank you!
Did you enroll and start attending classes at the UC? Were you billed for UC expenses beyond the initial enrollment deposit?
I enrolled, but did not attend classes. I was billed for the initial enrollment deposit, but, being an irresponsible 17 year old, thought that committing to another college would automatically notify the UC that I will not be attending theirs, freeing me of the billing.
I went through my email, and found emails from the school notifying me that I have to pay this deposit still. I tried logging in to pay it today, but it seems that they have closed my account. I am planning on calling them tomorrow to pay it over the phone.
Would you say that this past stupidity has basically ruined my chances at the school?
I do not think this will be an issue, but since you committed to the UC, did not officially withdraw, you are still responsible for the initial deposit.
Definitely clear this up before applying again.

Thank you for your help, seriously. Just to clarify, by clearing it up, do you mean paying it, or should I maybe send an apology to the school? Sorry if that sounds silly.

Based on the emails, it sounds like they still want the deposit. Just get clarification of what they want.
