Blacklisted if withdraw after accepting?

Actually, this thread can be posted not only on princeton uni, but I wanted to ask regarding the ivy leagues so I might as well put it here.

Let's say I accept a place for example Princeton on May 1. Then 1 month later I decide that I cannot attend for whatsoever reason. If i withdraw, would that blacklist me among all other ivy league schools? Like how I would be blacklisted if I applyed early decision for some school but pulled out?

And when do you pay the deposit for school fees?

I ask this because I intend to take a gap year, so there is a possibility that I might not attend even after accepting should I get a place somewhere else in the UK. So when do you pay the deposits so that I know what's the latest date to withdraw.

I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking, but when you are admitted to Harvard, Yale etc, one option when you decide to matriculate is to delay your matriculation for one year. So, if you want to take a gap year, you don’t have to withdraw (if that is what you are asking).

Haha actually I mean that let’s say my home countrie’s uni would only send out acceptance letters in late may. So I have to decide whether to attend us unis or not before I know whether I"m accepted into my local uni. So should I accept the us uni offer first and see if I get the local offer, or just apply for us unis next year should I get rejected by the local uni. basically us unis are back up plans, but I would waste 1 year should I get rejected by the local uni.

I’m not certain of the acceptability of this, but you may want to try asking for an extension on the decision date in light of your relevant international circumstances.

Am I able to notify Princeton NOW (with a few weeks to school starts? Circumstances have changed) that I want a gap year? I graduated May 2009.
