Blah!

That was a pathetic performance versus Duke :( But, what can you do when Duke shoots 50% from behind the arc as a team!?!?!? I thought they had a chance when they were down by three early in the second half, but then Strickland tried to do too much with that reverse dunk. I suppose it can redeemed against Maryland next week.

yeah, trent strickland's missed reverse dunk definitely changed the mood of the game for wake. i was hopeful too early in the second half but after that missed dunk and redick's three, everything seemed to fall apart for our deacs. too many missed shots as well. and as much as i hate duke, i must admit that redick was pretty nasty tonight.

trent strickland is not too popular on campus right now. also, how did duke get away with that substitution? they should have called a technical.

Which substitution? I didn't catch that.
The only technical I saw was against Eric Williams which I thought was a questionable call.

duke sent in a sub without sending him to the scorer's table.

Did you go to the game born? Everyone was going CRAZY! Looks like a lot of fun. I definately want to join the Screaming Demons when I get there!

and now a loss to clemson? *** is going on? I hope that the deacs beat maryland on sunday. i'm gonna go watch this duke-maryland game now.

No idea, but at least Maryland did worse against Duke than we did, but yeah Clemson :

Damn! That call at the end was horrible. With 30 seconds left down by three with possession, damn Caner-Meddley (or w/e his name is) knocked the ball out of bounds!!!! Before that happened Gray got hammered. They were robbed, but Justin Gray is awesome!

blahhhhasdfgasdfa....it just isn't the same without paul.

^^^ Yes, too true. They'll be lucky to make the tournament this year, probably just the NIT's. Next Wednesday against Boston College is a big game.

are any of the deacon seniors (gray, williams, etc.) staying back for one more year? i dont know how the deacons will play next year with all of those new freshman recruits and with all of the seniors gone.

Nope...their eligibility's gone after this year.

The starting five next year will probably be something like:
Visser
Hale (should be better in his natural position of shooting guard rather than running the point)
Stanley
Swinton
Smith (incoming frosh)

Combine that with the rumors that Skip's leaving for Cincy after this year and next year could be an interesting season...

Swinton is supposed to be pretty good. He was the North Carolina HS player of the year, but hasn't really shown much.

juba2jive, that really is bad news. i was hoping when i went to wake the basketball team would be really good. check out the article here: http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/9195597/1

they just couldn't pull it out at the end against virginia either. :(

Big game tommorrow night @ Duke. Not that it matters anymore, but it would be a nice win :P

Yay our first ACC win! The Deacons however, are looking sloppier every game. Could it be that the Deacs have already lost all hope this season?

Actually they beat Georgia Tech in January, but it's nice to win another game. I don't they they've lost hope, I think Gray is expected to do too much. If we can stay above .500 we'll probably make the NIT's.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the Gtech win from last month. Only the NIT? Couldn't the Deacs advance to the Big Dance if they win the ACC Tournament?
