Blah!

Hahahaha...yeah, they would make the NCAAs for winning the tourney...but there's about a snowball's chance of that happening.

In terms of NIT chances, we're 14-13 now. We've got Georgia Tech, BC, and State coming up...we have a chance of beating Tech on the road. Beating BC and State aren't looking too great right now, so that would put us at 15-15. We'll probably be out of the ACC tourney the first day (15-16)...or we might possibly make it to the next day and lose (16-16). So basically we're on the bubble right now. However, according to ESPN.com, the NITs have changed the rules so you can be less than .500 and still get an invitation. WF, as a pretty "big-name" basketball school, might have the name power to be able to get one of those sub-.500 invitations. Personally, I think if you're under .500, you shouldn't deserve to go to postseason play, but that's just me.

I think it's pretty much time to declare this season shot, and move on to looking at next year, hopefully with Skip still as the head coach (I hope!)

No, I don't think they've lost hope, because they're still playing with heart. They are playing pretty sloppy - the crazy cross-court passes and throwing it out of bounds, for example - and I don't know if it's bad communication or bad team chemistry or something else...I can't tell. I can see glimpses of how they SHOULD be playing - first half Carolina game, for example, or when they finally got serious in the second half last night and JGray hit the clutch 3 to go to overtime. Skip is coaching them as best he can, but he can't go do it for them. They've got to go get it done on the court and tighten up their game some.

I agree, I've seen glimpses of what made us a top 25 team in the beginning of the year, and it's usually in the first half. I don't think you can count out Wake for the NCAA Tourney until it is really over, we have two of the best players in the ACC. However, this may just be wishful thinking :) Go Deacs!

It seems like we'll be playing Florida State in the First Round of the ACC Tournament. If we win, we'll face probably BC or NC St. or CH. However, this is basically a home game (Greensboro).
On www.rivals.com it says we have 3 of the top 150 recruits (and several unsigned top-50 recruits are still looking at us) This has earned us teh 18th best recruiting class.

woot! finally a quality win. Ironically 06 Wake = 05 WVU and we will win the ACC tournament and make it deep into the NCAA tournament.

you're right. that was a nice win today. get ready ACC and NCAA tournaments...

We didn't even shoot free throws well, we turned it over more, and got it stolen 5 times. However, the key was that we out-rebounded State by 15 rebounds.

Wow, I just read that next March Wake Forest is hosting the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament!

FSU tommorrow. Should be a close game, as it's basically a home game for us. According to NITology, we are on the NIT bubble, so perhaps a victory in the ACC tournament will clinch our post season berth. After FSU it's NC State, and then probably Duke before the championship game. This is pretty favorable as we can take NC State and Duke is playing its worst basketball of the year (assuming we get that far). You can't count us out yet with Gray/Williams.
Go Deacs!

YESSSSSSS! Three more victories and we are DANCING this year :)
