i'm a sophomore right now, and i don't have many ECs... i join clubs, but can't find time to fit them in my schedule. i was in debate freshman and sophomore year, but i can hardly count that because i went to only 2 tournaments. debate is just not my passion...
i'm in the basic clubs like interact, but not a big member.

i get good grades. i have a weighted average of 98.6
i also have a very rigorous courseload, and plan to take atleast 8 AP classes in my high school career.
i do a few things that i'm really active in OUTSIDE of school:
volunteer at world refugee center (one of my biggest)
piano for 10+ years
church leadership

i want to go to an extremely good school such as UPenn, Georgetown, or Cornell.
so..

what should i do?
(do i even have hope?)
:P

typical asian applicant judging from ur name>?
lol
dun wry there's tons of ppl like us

high mark , little ec and musicXD

oh, and another question..
should i join more clubs in junior year? would it look weird on apps if i suddenly became involved in a bunch of clubs?
and would it be to late to join the tennis team? would it help? i tried out this year but didn't make it .. people say i shouldn't try out again because it'd look bad if i were already a junior or senior and had just joined the team.. but i've been taking lessons for a looong time already and really would like to be on the team.

(hahaha. yes, i am asian. x___x)

Do what you want!

Joining a sport in your jr. year isn't like joining some random club to beef up your app.

Anyway... if you really thought it compromised your chances, you could just not put it down on your apps.

it does look wierd if u suddenly get more invloved

i face the same problem too!

try to join some choir! they will look good on that!
