if my blank line was on february 12th, is it fairly safe to assume that I was either accepted or rejected (and not waitlisted)? Or is it possible that they saw my application and immediately thought "this kid is perfect for the waitlist"?

I know, weird question and hard to answer without being a cmu admissions officer, but I'm curious, lol. Any thoughts?

thanks for input, though what i was really looking for wasn't my "chances" but rather a discussion on how the waitlist is created. Mainly I was just wondering if applicants are placed on the waitlist in the final days of decision-making or throughout the decision-making process

this kid is perfect for the waitlist------------hah! nice guess but I dont think thats possible.
I am just an international applicant who knows nothing about the whole process as you do. However I would like to post my thought here if it can help ease your anxiety.
(Assuming that the blank link means sth) apparently you are far above the average!

Wait, what do you all mean by "blank line"? In my "Where Am I In the Process" page, under "Admission Documents Received", there's nothing written next to February 16th (next to Jan 27 it says "Teacher Rec", next to Jan 21 it says "High School Transcript"). Is this the "blank line"?

No, the blank line is a literal blank line. In the "Where am I in the Process", there will be a date (they vary) and next to the date there is nothing....it is just blank. This is an indication that a decision was made. We don't know what the decision was but we know that CMU decided something.
