I have no idea if you will be accepted or not, but you seem well qualified to me. I think you would be a great addition to the student population at Barnard, but I am just a mom of a former student.

Best to you in your college search. you sound like a very interesting and motivated young lady!

I agree with churchmusicmom - you seem like a very interesting and dynamic person, and the int’l aspect should help you, I would think.

No reason stands out as to why you would have an uphill battle, but you never know.

Good luck!

Aren’t there 2 u’s in Meursault? Also, what do you mean by “women are lesser than me” ?

Your global perspective will be a great asset of your application! I don’t understand the top information. Are you an Asian, born in America, applying as an international student?

You should have a chance. Are you applying regular decision?

Good luck!

Another parent here: I’ve got no idea what the Barnard admissions will decide… but if it were up to me, I’d definitely accept you. You certainly would bring a valuable set of experiences and a different perspective, and would clearly be an asset to the college.

I think you stand a very good chance in general. In addition, Barnard is trying to recruit more international students from Asia.

Thanks Everyone! This has seriously made my day. To clarify, yes there are 2 u’s in Meursault and thanks to the wonders of wireless keyboard, i mean women are lesser than men.

I HAVE A TYPO IN MY ESSAY. And lo behold, I spelled Meursault wrong, but only once. How much would it hurt me? I have slight dyslexia, but I didn’t mention it in my application.

ETA: I’ve applied ED.

i think you will get in
you have really good IB grades and the iB program is hard!

Don’t worry about typos…I was reading through the princeton review book for college essays and a ton of kids that got into Ivies had MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR typos in their essays.

But be careful with the rest of your apps
