hi

i need to know how to block iu email in the summer. i have been getting irrelevant emails. today i am VERY upset because i got 10 YES COUNT THEM TEN emails from IU about a tornado warning, do they not care that some of us ARE NOT IN INDIANA. I DO NOT CARE IF THERE IS A TORNADO WARNING IN INDIANA OR ABOUT THE GRADUATION. do they just not know when to back off or what??????

how can i make it so that i do not get the spam email from iu in the summer or emails that are irrelevant like the crap about the tornado warning today that really upset me. i am not impressed

does onestart have a block option or what

Do you use Imail or Umail?

Just set up a filter filtering emails from IU with the email client that you use. UITS site should have instructions if you’re having troubles.

Are you actually staying at Indiana?

Judging by his past posts…I don’t think he’s staying.

I would suggest contact UITS about getting your account deactivated prior to your transfer or withdrawal from the school. Then, perhaps an attitude adjustment would be in order

firstly i am staying at indiana for atleast the fall semester i did not have a choice. i went to onestart and could not find a filter and u cannot block it. i was very angry about the tornado emails as they do not apply to me and i do not like the dumb junky emails they send out like “uits monitor” and “get ready” no one reads those. i just wanna get email from oncourse i dont care about other stuff.

who would u suggest i call about this issue?

Don’t call anyone. It’s a few emails, is it really affecting your life that profoundly?

If you route your Umail address to Yahoo or whatever email provider you use, you can block emails from particular addresses.

But really?

Once you are in your umail acct, near the top there is a ‘create filter’ choice that you can select.

Or, how about just hitting delete? Life is way too short to stress about inconsequential stuff like this.

Welch, you could use the credit transfer services to take classes that a lot of other schools will accept transfer credit for if you plan on being at IU only one more semester. I get the impression that your parents want you at IU, but you do not like the place. They are spending a lot of money for classes that you could take at a cc and transfer elsewhere for about one-tenth the cost.
