My son applied for Blount and they want to interview him. Has anyone done this before? How many kids are interviewed for Blount on the interview day and how many get in? Also what is the day like. Thanks

Here’s some info from last year’s Blount interview days: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-alabama/1275598-back-blount.html?highlight=blount

I don’t know what the past events have been like, but the schedule seems short: registration between 2:30 & 3 with events concluded by 6:30.

Michigangeorgia-- our DS also got the invite to interview. Will you be attending with your DS? If so, where are you coming from? Thanks for asking the questions…I was curious too about what all it will entail.

D also got the invite. Hate to miss it, but I don’t see how we can physically make it on that date. When we toured the dorm during our visit, the young ladies who escorted us were from a distance as well and noted they had telephone interviews. It would be nice for d to meet other students who applied though. I wonder how many live too far to go?

I am sure you guys are not alone … probably several will have a hard time making it. It is about six hours for us, so it is doable enough, but we have a budget to consider as well.

kelijake - We are from Georgia so it’s about a 4 hour drive. My only problem with is DS will have to miss school and since they have the following Monday off… I wouldn’t be surprised if he has tests on that Friday…

MG: We’re also about 3 1/2 hours away. Since registration doesn’t being till 2:30pm, D is going to go to 1st & 2nd period before we leave.

Also: don’t forget Capstone Scholars Day is the next day. If your student had been invited but you weren’t planning on going, you can still RSVP.

Rob - Thanks for the reminder we did rsvp for the capstone day but we thought we would just drive down early for it and drive home afterwards. Now it’s looking like an over night hotel stay.

Any insight on dress for this? I know it’s an interview day, but Blount seems to be less formal than CBHP & Fellows. Just wondering what typical dress of the candidates has been in years past. Thx :)

Will y’all please give a report when you return? We’re a 12 hour drive (each way) and have schedule conflicts and so just can’t make it, but d is very interested in being a part of Blount if she chooses UA. Thanks and good luck!
