Blount Undergrad Initiative

Hi, my son has been asked to interview for the Blount program, wondering if anyone has any advice for us…opinions about the program and what was your experience with the Blount program…he will be a freshman in Sept. of 2007…thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Blount Hall no longer has the sheen it once had, and Riverside/Lakeside/Ridgecrest sorta stole it's claim to fame as the poshest dorm on campus. I was not a Blount, but have many from are Blount alums. It's essentially Alabama's version of a quaint liberal arts college with small classes and stimulating intellectual discourse in the halls of the dorm after hours (at least in theory). Between the Blount Seminars and honors college classes, your son will get plenty of that.

Unless you son doesn't like to read, I don't see a reason why not to go for it.
