Blue and Gold

Not to sound too much like a greedy student, but after tuition is covered by blue and gold what’s the average take home? I’m a 4.0 JC student applying to UC this coming fall totally independent no family support and one child that is dependent on me. Basically what I’m asking is how many new pairs of shoes can I get my daughter while I’m attending UC

Blue and Gold only covers tuition, and is a supplement to FAFSA and Calgrant.

So if your calgrant and fafsa amount don’t cover tuition, blue and gold steps in and pays the remaining amount.

You wont get any additional money unless calgrant and fafsa are MORE than your tuition amount. If it is, they’ll automatically deduct tuition from it and send you the remaining amount.

For example, I am getting 12.2k for cal grant and 1.2k from fafsa, 13.4k is not enough for UC tuition, so blue and gold will probably pay off…1-3k

I get no additional funds.

So tuition is covered but everything else you’re on your own pretty much.
