Any members can give any insigt to a prospective freshman (trumpet) member? We know they show up 3 days ahead for tryouts in late August
and that the marching is not so easy. Any other insight ?

Thanks, JF

Take a bike. The band building can be a mile away from your dorm and you will be going back and forth to eat. Since you are marching all day this adds another possible 5-6 miles of walking into your day and the time it takes to walk it:) Get in shape now. Take raingear or at least an umbrella.

There are lots of blue band videos on you tube and the music is available on the website to familiarize yourself with the tunes.

I assumed you signed up for marching band on your schedule and logged into the blue band website and filled out the intent to audition form.:)

Hi Sax, well my son should be in East Halls (requested) and actually I've heard that it's not too far from the practice field. Is that true ?
I can guess your instrument, but what year are you ?
Thx, JF

jf3284....Hi! Actually, I'm a mom, too. Just here helping out.

East is closer by far. Not as long as a walk as from middle of campus but still count on 6 trips a day. The trumpet should make it easier :)
