Blue Book aside, What has the best Practice for Critical Reading?

I don't see much of this.... I'm done with the blue book. What would be 2nd in terms of accurate passages for improving critical reading. I had a 540 and I hope to improve it to 700 or higher. I am also using direct hits for vocab

i second this question

Third…ed^

I think i’ve heard that mcgraw hill is good. Maybe u might wanna check that out.

You finished the entire blue book and are only at 540…?

What did you start off with before you did all of the practice tests? And did you go through the actual critical reading section with practice and everything?

is barrons cr workbook any good?

Yes^ That was going to be my next suggestion. Im pretty sure it has the same strategies as the regular Barron’s/Barron’s 2400 (I dont have the 2400 version) and it has good practice.

I havent tried it myself but from what I heard RR does wonders.

OK, I’m just a math guy, but my instincts are telling me that even more than with math, it is crazy to practice with non-college-board reading sections. I would use blue book, online course, old psats, really old sats — the colllege board has that special flavor that just can’t be imitated! And just like math, when you say “I am done with blue book”, do you mean that you have answered every question and you can now go back and understand WHY your wrong answers were wrong and where the evidence for the right answer was to be found? The last time I looked at McGraw Hill (for math) I was shocked at how far it was from the real thing – not every question, but really every third or fourth question just didn’t match the real thing. Are you confident that they are better at reading?

mcgraw hill is bad. their tests test weird details, are completely unlike the real thing, and the curves are bad…i got a 710 on the march real sat, the bought the mcgraw hill book. i got a 640 on a mcgraw hill book…then i stopped using it, just studied vocab, and got up to a 770. there are yearly official released SAT practice tests from college board. also, ive heard that princeton review is relatively accurate.

I’m doing the barron’s critical reading workbook now, and I love it  I definitely recommend it. It’s pretty helpful. And I really like their wordlist.

^ cool, do you think that it will improve my score because I am scoring really low on practice tests

previous SAT qas’s might be your best bet…books other than the bb are plain misleading

I had gotten a 540 prior to doing about half the tests. You know what I guess i’m just going to review the old tests in the blue book. Thanks

Wait what is qas?

I would say barrons 2400
