<p>Why D? Is there anything suggesting "well-known" in the passage?</p>
<p>I chose C. I think "classic" is somehow related to "shaped like quotation mark" and therefore choice C "elegant" is somewhat related to shape or appearance. Even the previous sentences describe the "incisions"' appearance (small, pinprick).</p>
