Blue book help please!! Math Section pg. 776 # 7

Ahmad has containers of two different sizes. The total capacity of 16 containers of one size is x gallons, and the total capacity of 8 containers of the other size is also x gallons, and x > 0. In terms of x, what is the capacity , in gallons, of each of the larger containers?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Let a=first container.
b=second container.
So, if 16 of the first is equal to x, 16a=x. Solve for a, a=x/16
8 of b is equal to x, 8b=x. Solve for b, b=x/8
Since x/8 > x/16, b is the larger one and is equal to x/8 (answer D).

^Do you ever have anything to contribute? something easy for one person may be hard for another. Don’t be so patronizing all the time, someday it could be you who needs help.
