Blue Book Math Question

I can not figure out how to do

PAGE 843 NUMBER 18

in the BLUE BOOK. Also, an explanation is not on CC yet.

Well since 1351 is the median it looks like this.

__ __ 1351 __ __

Plug in the numbers in order u get…

__ __ 1351 1459 1552

However, note that 1238 has to be in the first blank for the new number to be at maximum

1238 __ 1351 1459 1552

Now since it says that now two numbers are the same and that 1351 is the medium than it has to be a number great than 1238, but less than 1351.

So it’s 1350.

Thanks.

Can some explain

PAGE 860 NUMBER 19

Please!

ok so a function f(x) is 2x-1. 1/2f(squareroot of t)=4

so just plug in answer choices

try 81/4= t

so squareroot of 81/4

is 9/2

9/2 times 2 -1=8 times 1/2 =4. answer is e.
