Blue Book SAT math scores compared to real sat?

So ive basically finished taking all of the practice tests for the math section in the SAT. Basically with stupid mistakes, prolly on 3 i got around 720s? and 3 others 740s, and the other 4 were like 780s - 790s. without stupid mistakes there all above 760 - 770.

Anyone else mind sharing how they did on the blue book test for math compared to the real SAT?

I probably did 5 of the math sections, getting 2 680s in a row then 3 800s. On my real SAT I got a 800 also. I think that you should take your grade on these with a grain of salt because, like me, you are probably tired/distracted during the practice tests. During the real test you should be much more focused and make less silly mistakes, which will hopefully get you that extra point and give you an 800.

The recent SATs tend to have harsher curves, but it’s debatable they might be easier (than BB SATs). For me, it was like 700-780-800-800-800-800 etc., and on the real thing I got an 800 :).

yeah I agree with dilemmas. I understand all the concepts and I consider math my best subject. But if I did get a question wrong it was almost 100 percent of the time a dumb mistake.

Why would you ask a question if you knew the answer already??

wanted insight.

^^repost, sorry

From my experience, 99Dilemmas has it right. If you’ve taken lots of practice tests and understand the concepts, the real test will capitulate and reward your hard work with the coveted 800

I did better on real thing (30 point gap) than on the practice tests, but that’s to be expected because I reviewed a lot right before the test.

PS: ^^congrats!

It all depends on the curve. You may have an easy Math section or hard one which would be corrected by the curve in a real test, but not within a section of practice test. Also, you should do a few full timed practice tests instead of Math section only. My daughter did a lot better on ACT and her explanation is there are more sections going back and forth on different areas in SAT. You mind is probably less clear for Math after a CR section or writing an essay.
