If I wanted to stay in someone's dorm during Blue Devil Days...how do I go about doing that?

I see that there is an option to be hosted. but do you have to know someone to do it? or do they assign someone to you <-- there is a spot where you put the Duke Students name.

You can choose to stay with a specific student (such as someone you know who’s attending Duke right now) or allow the Blue Devil Days coordinators to assign you a host.

Yeah, I think you should leave it blank. They’ll probably assign you a host. Also, there’s a liability form to fill out since you’ll be staying overnight. You’ll see a link to this form after you submit your registration.

I recently got an email saying I should have opened a “Hosting Handbook” after registering online for Blue Devil Days, but I must have either passed over it accidentally or it wasn’t there. Is there any way I can get to it? I’m leaving the 9th and I’m pretty clueless. Any help appreciated!

“So on the Registration form do you just put no name down for the student name part and they assign you someone or do you have to email them?”

oh, when i registered, i just put my actual name in all the boxes that were labeled: “student name” (including the boxes under the “hosting” section… was that a mistake?

Yeah, it says “Duke Student Name”… Hopefully they realize that it’s a mistake and will assign you a host. If you want to make sure, you can call them to check.

oh weird… when i registered (which was last friday) there was no box labeled “duke student name”… i only put my name in the boxes labeled only “Student Name”

Folks, a couple of years ago when our son was looking into Duke and he or we had questions about BDD or other prospective student issues, we found that calling Duke usually cleared things up pretty quickly. Not to say that you can’t get excellent advice here, just that you can go straight to the source if you choose.
