Under the checklist, in the "we have received" section it says they have gotten my transcript, letters of recommendation, and official SAT/ACT scores. The only thing in the "we are waiting for" part is the FAFSA application which is optional.

When I look at my decision, it says "Your application is not complete. Please see missing items in the checklist above."

What could they be waiting for if they told me they already received all the required materials?! The only thing I could think of is that on the Common App, I put that I was taking the ACT in December. Could they be waiting for those test scores? If so, why would they say that they have already received my official scores?

UDel is my top choice, I'm already very nervous about getting in and this is stressing me out and making me think I have an even lower chance of getting accepted, please help!

Have either of you emailed the Admission’s Department and inquired about this. This would seem to me to be the best action you can take right now. I suspect UD is being inundated with applications right now and I believe they got over 26K apps last year (23K being from OOS), so there may be some delay in their updating applicant portals depending on when they got an applicant’s initial application and all the supporting documentation. While the FAFSA is optional I don’t know for sure if this delays an applicant’s admission decision, but I don’t believe it has any bearing on them making the decision. I would encourage all applicants to complete the FAFSA, even if you feel you would not be eligible for need-based aid, as all applicants (regardless of income) are eligible to receive Federal Stafford Loans at an interest rate below most all other sources of college loans. So if you are going to have to borrow any money for college this is the most economical way to get at least some loan money at a better rate than most all other sources. Good luck to everyone.

My D’s application (sent via the Common App approximately 2 weeks ago) was also showing as “incomplete” even though all of the materials (except the FAFSA) were showing as “received”. She e-mailed admissions last week but did not get a response.

Today, she was pleasantly surprised to see that her application status changed to:

“Decision: Your application is under review.”

Those of you who are still seeing “incomplete” should keep checking it regularly. It should hopefully get updated at some point soon. As Mwallenmd said, they are probably running behind due to the large number of applications that they are undoubtedly receiving.

I called to see why it said my application was incomplete, they told me everything was in and when I checked this evening it said that my application is under review
