Why do they assign a federal work study amount in your package? Is that the highest amount you can acquire a year? It's only 1.4k. I could probably make more working somewhere else part time.

Hello
I received a sizable chunk of money from Alumni and Friends fun but on top of that they said I should take out a 3500 Stafford Loan and 1700 work study. The pamphlet says that the work study is simply an estimate. the School gives you the listings and you have to find your own job. You get a weekly paycheck based on the amount of hours you work. So you can earn less or more than the sheet says. It is meant to cover incidentals on top of supplies. But the school doesn't guarantee employment, just the listings, hope this helped

Woohoo, I got in! I didn't find out until yesterday, and only after calling the admissions office a few times. They're resending my mail...I guess it got lost. The suspense was HORRIBLE...so was the process of actually trying to get my decision over the phone, but I am so excited!

If anyone (like me) is still waiting for their decision, I just called and was told that another batch of Blue Ribbon decisions will be sent out on March 15. since they only use snail mail for admissions decisions, i'm not expecting anything until March 19 or so.
