Blue Ribbon?

I was invited via e-mail to the online chat for Blue Ribbon applicants last week, however, I haven’t recieved a Blue Ribbon application. Is there any way I can get one or was it just a mistake that I was invited to the wrong chat? Any advice would be great…
Thanks!

Call the office and find out what's up - that is, if you want to apply as a Blue Ribbon candidate. If not, don't worry about it.

I received an email about this and don't really understand it...

If I appy with this, even though I've already sent out my $55 and Common Application, everything... do I get any type of recognition in the admissions process? (IE do I get some sort of a "bump)

Do you think it woudl be harder or easier to get accepted with this?

You should call and ask them. The Blue Ribbon app was due Dec. 15 and was free, so it's hard to guess what they're offering you.

I emailed them and they said it was an accident, I wasn't supposed to receive it. I'm from MA, and the blue ribbon is supposed to be for geographic diversity. Obviously, MA isn't very diverse for Brandeis.

Yes, it was some kind of computer glitch, apparently.

He said I could still use it if I want, they'd accept it, but...

I think it would hurt my chances, being an overrepresented geographical applicant in a pool of underrepresented geographical applicants.

So I DON'T think I'll do the Blue Ribbon, does everyone else think this is a good idea?

Yeah, I think taking advantage of their mistake does not send the most positive message about you. And you don't benefit from using the blue ribbon app. So I wouldn't do it.

I too got the blue ribbon invitation via email earlier this month - that is nearly 2 months after I sent in my common app and fees, etc. I was surprised that they are giving me fee-free application! I ignored it. I was afraid they will be confused because my application was complete 2 months earlier.
It must have been a computer glitch...

If you call the admissions office to ask about it, they will refund the $55 you spent filing the Common App.
