We need to pick up a Bluetooth speaker for auditions, small enough to carry around but ok sound. Any recommendations?
Also, for those auditions that provide a speaker, do the kids connect their phone by aux cord? We have an iPhone 6, do they have cords to connect it or does she bring that? Does the cord connect in the speaker jack or the iPhone plug?
I am not very tech savvy. Advice re which doohickey dongle to connect to which thingamajig is much appreciated.
@CanaDad We have a Mix Hero T102Plus speaker and a MagicBox II. The Mix Hero sounds a little better. Our D connected via Bluetooth to any provided speakers, but some students had dongles they brought with them as well. I would not expect the school to have the correct cords to connect.
We have the JBL clip speaker, great sound, can clip on to bag. I agree with afterp89, I would not count on schools to have correct cord or connectors
We bought the Oontz Angle (Ultra I think) on the recommendation of several others. It’s what her choir teacher uses and she let us borrow hers to see what we thought. Sounds fantastic to me. We plan on using Bluetooth. The one thing I have read/heard repeatedly is to make sure your phone is in airplane mode or it could be a bit awkward if your phone rings!
@MTSongbirdMom I bet that would be awkward, but I’m pretty sure my D has the ringer off at all times… or maybe only when it’s me calling…
@MTSongbirdMom, airplane mode turns off bluetooth, so make sure to turn that back on.
@afterp89 even if the ringer is off… a phone call or text could interrupt the music… so be safe!
@TexasMTDad Thanks for the heads up. My phone doesn’t shut of wifi or Bluetooth in airplane mode, so I didn’t think about that. She has a different phone so I will tell her to be sure it’s working though! We do have a cable if need be.
@afterp89 Lol. We will hope it’s just the ringer being off. I keep mine off 90% of the time because I forget to turn it back on! So my D accuses me of ignoring her!
