BME/Econ?

Ok, I was admitted ED to Pratt, and I would really like to double major in BME and Econ, a task I expect to be rather daunting. I'd like to know just how possible it really is, though, if anyone can provide some insight.

Going in, I will have AP credit in AP Calc AB & BC, AP Physics C (Mechanics), possibly AP Macroecon (if I take the exam, which I probably will), possibly AP English Lit (if I can pass the exam-I've heard it is quite hard), and AP Psych.

I'd just like to know if this if possible with as close to a normal courseload as possible and the standard 8 semesters. Also, if someone could give a little more insight on what is actually required of a Pratt student double majoring in something in Trinity, that would be helpful (like, for example, do I need anything other than a bunch of Econ courses for an Econ major).

To anyone who can help, thanks!

Macro does nothing for you, unless you get a 5 on macro AND micro
BC will help, so jump into 103 and thats a prereq for any econ youll need for major
so you got BME and 10 econ classes youll have to take.
maybe a stats but i dont know if the stats for egr will be same as for econ

many people do an egr and econ so dont worry tooo much
but just be ready for work

Here's the website for econ major requirements, they differ based on whether you want a BS or AB in econ:

Duke Economics - Undergaduate Program - Major & Minor Requirements

And here's the current BME handbook containing the requirements for a BSE in BME:

Since BME will be your primary major by necessity, I'm assuming that double BME/Econ would not require you to fulfill any of the trinity T-reqs. In that case, you would only need to fulfill Pratt's graduation requirements and the requirements for your two majors. You can talk to Dean Connie Simmons for more information.

double major in BME/Econ at pratt is, I think, the most common double major and is pretty popular. You should be fine. I would recommend try to place out of as many of the weeder classes as possible...those being the freshman econ and math classes.
