<p>I looked at Penn's Programs of Study and I realized that Penn doesn't have a Biomedical Engineering major, only Biomedical Sciences and Bioengineering.
I've heard people say they're majoring in BME @ Penn. How does that work? Or am I misunderstanding something?</p>

<p>bioengineering is equivalent to biomedical engineering at most other places (people in the program got into johns hopkins or duke bme, for example)</p>
<p>biomedical science just has less requirements but is the same department with the same classes</p>
