I am a junior in high school and interested in doing BME from Johns Hopkins University. I am currently doing an Hons Physics course and plan to take the AP Physics B exam(self study). Next year I plan to double up with AP Physics C as well as AP Chemistry( I took Hons Chemistry in my Sophomore year). I am still not sure whether my school will let me take both AP Physics C & AP Chem courses because of scheduling problems. In case I have to choose between the two, what should I choose to take? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a freshman in the Hopkins BME program and I'll tell you 2 things

1) Don't waste your time with the Physics B exam - it's non-calculus based, Hopkins (or many schools for that matter) don't accept credit for it, and it's $86 out of your pocket.
2) I placed out of both Chemistry and Physics here and from what I hear, chemistry is much harder than it was in high school. It'd be much more beneficial if you take it and place out in high school. If you can take both though, by all means do so.

The Hopkins BME program is the most credit intensive major on campus (128), but many students reduce that number by placing out of introductory classes through AP credits and the like. I'm enjoying it so far but I haven't hit the difficult stuff as the upperclassmen have told me. If you have any more questions. Feel free to message me.

Thank you very much. That was helpful.

Hey Beckham, do we have to take an additional placement exam at hopkins to get our ap credits?
