I recently got waitlisted at UIUC. Since then, I have not been able to concentrate on my studies for boards (which are merely 20 days away)
Also, my family is shifting abroad right after the board exams finish. And as i’m very excited to go there, I keep surfing the net all the time about the place we’re moving to and also about other colleges I applied to. I need to do well in these exams, but as I “waste” so much of my time on the net, I am unable to study as much as I should. I feel really hopeless at the moment. I really don’t know what to do at the moment :-S
I feel you. Same with me. In my case, I haven’t been able to concentrate on IITJEE prep and JEE mains, which is right after Boards. I keep thinking of my interviews, and I got waitlisted at UIUC for CS too, and I also keep hypothesising how I’m not going to get into any of the Ivies/MIT/Stanford (can’t afford any others), and what if I don’t get CS at any IIT. Hope everything works out for us!
I can understand. What you need to do is give your laptop and mobile phone to your parents for the time you’re going to study so that there are no distractions and you don’t keep on searching for the place you’re shifting to. At this point, focusing on your boards is a lot more important because you are responsible for your results. For colleges, you’ve sent the application and at this point there’s nothing much that you can do. But you can control your performance in your board papers
All the best!
Thank you @pallavijaniani , thats what I try to do, but I can’t stop thinking about those things. As for the laptop and mobile phone, I need them for studying also so I can’t do away with them. And obviously whenever I switch on my laptop, I get distracted and then…
Same position here…any advice people ?

I had the same problem. This was the solution.
