TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Board of Governors is scheduled to discuss whether to keep the current restrictions on incoming freshman enrollment.

Last year, the board agreed to limit freshman enrollment at the state-funded levels through 2010 to maintain quality at Florida's 11 state universities.

Outgoing State University System Chancellor Mark Rosenberg has urged the board to keep that policy in place, but some board members are in favor of removing it.

They said the system should put access ahead of quality, and let universities decide on enrollment for themselves.

The board will take up the issue at its Thursday meeting in Tallahassee.

I would think FSU would elect to continue to restrict enrollment.
