Boarding School Applicants for 2014-15 School Year

I just wanted to create a thread for all people applying to top boarding schools for the 2014-15 year. Any questions, concerns, we can also share our application experiences, and we can share our stats and schools that we are applying to.

Which schools are you guys applying to this year?

I am applying to Exeter, Loomis, and St. Paul’s. What about you?

I’m thinking of Loomis, Governor’s, Northfield Mount Hermon, Mercersburg and Suffield. I made up my mind a week ago ahaha I’m not 100% sure yet because I’m quite worried about my SSAT score :(

What is your SSAT score if you don’t mind answering?

I am applying to Deerfield,Milton,Concord,St. Pauls,

I am applying to Hotchkiss, Andover, Choate, Loomis,& Taft

Thanks @needtoboard, we needed this thread for a while.

Hotchkiss, Andover, Loomis, Kent, and Lawrenceville for 10th grade.
I might tack on Mercersburg too.

Reapplicant and I am applying to Andover and Exeter. GO EXETER!!! I took SSAT and I am worried cause I think I got really good in Math and Reading but to be honest I guessed on all of the verbal. Embarressing I know but I am terrible at verbal

Has anyone had a nudge from an AO/ interviewer? If so what does it mean? And did you get accepted, rejected or what?

Im applying the Deerfield, Lawrenceville, abad Berkshire for 10th grade

Andover for 10th grade!

Applying to Concord, Middlesex, and Governor’s. Super nervous about my essays.

BHADES, one of my friends was in a similar situation (but as a 9th grade applicant). She managed to score in the low 70s though. However, your math and reading scores are probably higher than hers.

Wow. This is really crunch time for me. Some schools applications are due this week and the rest next week. SOOO stressed out :(

How far are you guys with your essays? I’ve drafted all of mine.

I’ve just finished them. I’m wait on submitting them until two or three days before so that I can work on them and make final adjustments

I’ve finished 3/5 of mine. I think they’re good but who knows what AO’s are going to think… Some essays are probably amazing, and not sure if I’ll be able to stack up to those.

The rest I’ve drafted, but have to edit them.

By the way, what happens if you can’t get the transcript in by the 8th?

Exactly! These dates are looming and I’m so stressed. I’ve submitted all essays except for one school whose essays I can’t stop obsessing over. I’m just trying to cherish this busy time because once I get a break, I won’t be able to stop obsessing over M10. Oh, the insanity.

@needtoboard I just took the SSAT for the first time a few days ago. My first shot and failed miserably!
