And then Twilight copied the two part thing for Breaking Dawn… (No offense to Twilovers…)

Ewwww! Twilight is gross! I loved the Harry Potter movie! Midnight premiere in 3D=Amazing! I too think a 98/100 might be in order, because the family problems of the Dumbledore family were barely stressed at all. There were also some very touching scenes. Sigh.

Anyone who saw the midnight premier is SUPER LUCKY!

@deerbri you are sooooo lucky!! I was so close to getting midnight premiere tickets but they sold out in all my local theatres D:
@rizzledrizzle thanks for the info and its good that the people are nice. Almost all good boarding schools are far away from where I live but I really want to go to a NE school because I can actually experience seasons there unlike where I live when its basically all summer all the time :(

you guys are so lucky, they don’t show it in my country (they showed the first part though)

@topsecret where do you live? wow that sounds like a creeper-like question lol but I thought the HP movies were completely international

In my area, the midnight tickets sold out so my friends and I got dressed up like Harry Potter characters and saw the 12:01 show! Hahah everyone was cheering and laughing and it was so much fun It was great because everyone in the theater was a huge fan! And the 3D glasses were shaped like Harry’s glasses… I love Harry Potter!

Dang it! Seeing it next week maybe!

I wouldn’t be able to wait that long :)

@Planijane: I live in South East Asia (I can’t give you the exact name because some AOs can detect me).
Well, it’s not an ‘‘unknown country’’ but I haven’t figured out why they doesn’t show the second part. Probably cuz they don’t get enough profit.

Oh, and I have a question right now: I received a prize in a track and field competition but I don’t have the certification right now (maybe lost it, idk). So is it ok if I list a prize without a certification?

Yupp!!!

Idk, are there any applicants on CC who were in this situation before?

I haven’t been in the situation…but the schools trust you not to lie about any awards that you have won. Also, you will most likely get a rec from your coach? So on that rec form your coach will need to list any awards that you have won for track and field.
Hope I helped!

Agreed with deerbri. And since people don’t send the ACTUAL award with them when sending the applications it doesn’t really matter if you lost it or not (well, to the admission’s officers;]).

Anyone picked out all the schools they’re applying to? BUMP!

I switched around my list a little bit after reading through the catalogs again and doing more online research. Here is my list:
Reaches -
Deerfield
Lawrenceville
SPS

Average -
St. George’s
Loomis Chaffee

Safety -
Williston Northampton

I’m having a really hard time choosing, and I always move around schools. I like a lot of the lower acceptance schools, but I’m scared to apply to them. Right now, the only “top tier” school (basically the one with the low acceptance rate) on my list is Peddie. Might consider Hotchkiss… I’m conflicted. Oh well. Can’t stress to much days before your birthday party (;

@rizzle: I’d keep a reasonably broad list until you get some sense of how your SSATs and fall grades turn out. Don’t be afraid to keep some highly competitive schools on your list for now if they fit well. I’d suggest spending just as much time thinking about your backups. Don’t neglect that part of the process. I know of kids who have been accepted only to their backup, and then weren’t happy with it. Don’t apply to a school you don’t really like. You will LIVE there!

Most kids write essays during Dec/H1 January, so you have time to drop schools after interviews but before killing yourself and your parents with the writing.
Focus on cultural and EC fit right now. It’s important that you attend a school where you’ll be happy.

True, true.
