Boarding School

Hi! So last year my family and I dived into the boarding school world. I admit that we rushed into the process and grossly underestimated the competitiveness of bs. I applied to only one school: Hotchkiss, and if you saw my application you would agree. So no hard feelings. Anyway, I’m starting to look into other boarding schools, because I still believe it’s where I need to be to excel. I have all A’s and I’m on the honor roll but at a not very good public school (I’m sure you can see why I would like to leave) I don’t believe I can get into a good college if I continue at my school and this is one of the main reasons why I would like to go to BS. I am currently a freshman and planning on applying to schools in my sophomore year, maybe even as a repeat. The boarding schools I am considering are Loomis Chaffe, Choate, Taft, Kent School, Deerfield Academy, Cate, Lawrenceville, etc.

I know this is a lot of information but I have various questions:

Are the bs listed above too many?

Do boarding schools look at past rejections and judge based on that?

What is the best way to lay my potential out on the table when applying?

How many times should I take the SSAT? (I had to take it when applying to Hotchkiss)

I am still skeptical as to whether I have a chance in applying again, so your help would be greatly appreciated. It would also be nice to hear from those that were accepted this year and to get tips.

That isn’t really a good reason.

I think that you would have better luck if you posted this in the Boarding School forum, rather than the College admissions forum.

I meant more that I don’t think my current school is helping to bring out my passions or challenge me in my academics, and I know that colleges look for passionate students and I have the potential but not the environment to push me farther in learning.

Okay, how would I do that? I was looking for the prep school category but I couldn’t find it.

@Eeyore123 Thanks for pointing out how unclear that statement was though.

Please ignore this thread. I made a mistake by posting it on this forum.
