does anyone know of any boarding schools that lean toward the liberal end of the spectrum...?

why in the hell would you ever want to go to a boarding school?!

Drew, that's the attitude I LOVE!

His parents are sending him away and forcing him, perhaps; and if you need a real reason, go ask Righteous_Vigilante if she would want to go to boarding school.

i already go to one. they're awesome. you don't live with your parents and you can do whatever you want.

My friends parents sent him to a boarding school his Jr. year and he hated it. He had no friends and no social life, he's a very good musician but he had no where to practice and the rules were VERY strict.

i go to one now. they're actually pretty great. kids at boarding school have so much fun because they don't have parents.

I would not know too much about boarding school since I do not spend time there, but some boarding schools are far more liberal than others and will allow fun things to happen given parental absence. The strict schools would just stink.

I am not an expert in this area. You might want to look at Northfield Mt. Hermon and Concord Academy. I'm sure there are many more.

Why do people always have the perception that when kids go to boarding school they were "sent away?" A lot of kids actually WANT to go to a boarding school. Why do you guys think boarding school is so bad? Amazing academics, amazing people.

Concord Academy, Milton Academy, and Phillips Exeter are three top-tier schools at which many students and faculty are politcally and socially liberal.

If you want to look at less selective boarding schools, the Cambridge School of Weston is one that's quite liberal.

Umm... no.

In my opinion, top tier school are places like Andover, SPS, Exeter, Deerfield, and Choate.

Corncord Academy? Come on.

Concord is in a tie (with the others I listed as top-tier, among 12 schools) for the highest test scores among boarding schools, FWIW...
