Ok, I just happened to click on this U at studentsreview.com, having no idea what it was, and I was shocked at some of the comments I read. What's up with this school? I don't even think it's an accredited university, and by what some of the comments said, I don't think it should be. Apparently, the students aren't allowed to do ANYTHING...Anyway, it terrifies me. Does anyone know anything at all about this place?

Evangelical.....very scarry....like Harry Potter....supernatural stuff.

A lot of people comment (negatively) about Bob Jones, but it doesn't really mass-produce sheltered religious fanatics. My IB English teacher went there, and she was one of the best teachers I ever had.

I applaud your defense of Bob Jones.......I still find the place about as scarry as the middle eastern schools who train radicals.

I have no problem with religious schools like BYU, but BJU is nutzo. I really have a hard time believing that a teacher went to BJU because it's not even accredited.

I think it may have been accredtied at one time but has lost accreditation

that is all the accredidation needed. Of course we want schools like this to feel safe in the USA but if "others" teach radical religious ideas we want that intervened.......right. Killing MDs and clinic workers who perform abortions is not terrorism of the home grown variety???

I'm what you would call an evangelical Christian, and BJU scares me. LOL I go to a private Christian school and Bob Jones published my health textbook from 9th grade...HAHAHAHAHAHA it was the lamest, most stupid textbook I have ever had. Well, the whole class was awful, but the book was like the icing on the cake. I guess if tons of rules and blind conformity are your thing, then go ahead and try BJU, but I can't think of anyone in their right mind who would consider it a "fit."

However, I would also not compare BJU-style Christianity to Muslim terrorism. No one at BJU is being taught to strap a bomb to themselves and go blow up the White House. I do strongly believe that BJU's spiritual philosophy is dangerous, but not in a violent way. In my opinion, BJU commits a form of spiritual abuse. NOT terrorism. Both are dangerous, but they are not the same.

i heard its crazy.

i have a relative who got expelled from BJU for playing Christian music too loud in the middle of the afternoon. :D

If you are interested in Bob Jones U, read this article, very enlightening:

My favorite quote:

"Bob Jones III denounced Ronald Reagan as "a traitor to God's people" for the sin of choosing as his vice president George H.W. Bush, whom Jones called "a devil."'
