BOCO audition

Last year my d auditioned for BOCO, voice performance. She rcvd an e-mail a few days later stating that the audition panel enjoyed her audition and that she had passed the audition portion of the admissions process. The mail stated that her acceptance wld be dependent upon the admissions committee. Much to our dismay she was not accepted. This year she auditioned and received an e-mail simply thanking her for auditioning. Has anyone else rcvd a thank you for auditioning yet been accepted? Not sure if we shld just cross BOCO off of our list.

My daughter sent in a recording to BOCO, and received a reply saying her recording had been received. It will be about 2 weeks or so until they hear all the auditions on her instrument, so we do not anticipate hearing back for a while.

we were there two weeks ago- kid had a Sunday Audition - have heard nothing back yet

I don’t think BOCO has made any decisions yet. At least I haven’t heard from anyone that they have… Not hearing back from an audition at this point is not unusual.

I wasn’t expecting to get an acceptance or rejection before the end of March. I was just very encouraged last yr when the panel said that she had done so well at the audition. Oh well…I will continue to be encouraged and patient. Thanks all for your replies

I guess that’s why they say to never read anything into an audition. My S had a voice professor practically promise him a full scholarship after a master class and promise to follow up with him and then…never heard anything again. Fortunately, it wasn’t a for a school that he had any real desire to attend. I think sometimes these professors just say things without thinking about how we might interpret them.
