There are a number of students accepted to both these schools. Would you say that the comparison between BoCo and Elon is similar to the comparison between BoCo and Emerson (other than Elon being in North Carolina?)

We never looked at Emerson or BoCo, but I believe comparing Elon to Emerson could be a mistake. I keep reading about cuts at Emerson. Elon does not have cuts. Also, Elon has GREAT dance for MT's - among the best, I think. I have read that dance at Emerson is not as strong.

If you compare BoCo to Elon, based on what I've heard, BoCo has much bigger entering freshman classes, and BoCo is right in the city, where Elon seems a little more of a small town feel (although near big cities).

There is also a big difference in terms of what type of program you are looking for.....Boston Conservatory is just as it says, a conservatory type program. You will have a lot less academic or core classes at Boco than at Elon. I am sure in terms of training, they are both wonderful, but very different in terms of what you want.

I agree with Ericsmom and kaysmom. Both are wonderful programs and one is not better than the other but they are very different experiences and it is much more a matter of how each one aligns with your personal college selection criteria. In my opinion, they really are nothing alike.
