<p>This evening, the body of missing Middlebury College freshman Nicholas Garza was found beneath a debris pile below the Otter Creek Falls in downtown Middlebury. He had been missing since February 5, 2008.</p>

<p>Everyone I know here in VT is mourning. Since there wasn't much hope of a better outcome, the only good thing here is that his parents now know where he is. I remember reading an account of a similar disappearance of a young man and his mother saying when his body was found that she now knew he was "safe with the Lord" or something like that. I think I understand now what she meant.</p>
