Has anyone else applied for the Boeing internship (engineering or business) for this summer?

No, but have you tried Microsoft, Google, or Sony?

I have, got three calls from applying to 37 positions. Good luck buddy. Its war out there.

Yeah dude. I applied to over 60 positions over break, interviewed with 15 of them, and currently I have 1 offer. Fortunately, this offer is also the most prestigious, so I lucked out in the end.

I applied just last week for the Boeing internship, but not for engineering as I am assuming most do. I applied for the business sector of Boeing, as well as other fortune 500 companies.

The reason I asked who had applied as I was wondering if anyone had heard from them, and if so how long after you submitted your application?

I have one offer that pays very well but doesn’t offer relocation assistance, so the Boeing internship is very appealing because it is close to my home.

That is great man. Hope you realize how lucky you are to have 15 interviews!

my friend was hired by Boeing as an intern back in December, I think they do most of their hiring early.

It’s ridiculously competitive…

I applied to Boeing about a month ago and heard nothing. Apparently they are still in the recruiting process though because new positions were added recently. So all hope is not yet lost.

To add some evidence to the pile, I applied to 50 companies about a month ago, probably for 100+ positions in total. 45 of those companies were applied to online - out of those 45, I have only heard back from 1 of them. It was a rejection. This is with a >3.9GPA in engineering but no work experience. The other 5 companies were applied to through my campus career center. 4 rejections, 1 interview, and by some miracle that single interview yielded acceptance even though there were 8 other candidates from my school alone. I never imagined it could be this competitive.

I applied last week as wel (for business)l. Yeah, it really is a war out there. I applied to 30+ and have heard from zero so far. I’m from a top 12 univ with a 3.6-7 GPA. This depresses me.

Lol MarkJC, if you think 8 people is competitive, via the top 12 bschool, there were 3000+ interviews for 129 internship positions this year.

I had 12 interviews, 1 offer. Fortunately, it was something I wanted all along. This is with a 3.3 GPA. Really, GPA doesn’t mean squat in business (im marketing management), as long its above a 3.2. Its all about personality and ECs.

Anyhow, my friend interned at boeing (buyer). Got a frieking equivalent to 15k in total compensation (before taxes) including a whopping $5000 housing stipend. He loved it.

^ That is one awesome intern huh? $15k in total compensation and $5,000 housing stipend… Jesus…

Heh, I remember one of my friends had a pretty sweet setup at Raytheon. They gave them a rental car for the whole summer, something like $25/hr, and paid for an apartment at an extended-stay hotel for the duration of their internship. Oh yeah, they also covered travel expenses to and from the job.

(And the hotel had free breakfast and dinner every day of the week in addition to a free happy hour one night a week.)

I was interviewed at a career fair for the NW business internship, then was under consideration for 3 positions out of 7 and then offered a position within 3 weeks. My GPA is not as high as the others, they responded really well to my work experience and interview.

rationgirl, does Boeing give you housing stipend and relocation travel assistance for the upcoming summer?
