<p>Does anyone know anything about UCSB's Hindi Film Dance Team? The website says they have one but I don't know much about it. My friend and I want to join, but we're not Indian and we don't know any traditional Indian dances. But, we are crazy for Bollywood movies and have seen about a million of them. How hard is it to join? Do they compete or anything? Will I feel awkward if I want to join but I'm not Indian? Any other info that any of you have might be great (like a website link). Thanks so much!!</p>
<p>There are two organizations that are related to Indian dance and culture. The undergraduate one is called Indus, and the graduate one is called IASB (Indian association of Santa Barbara). They both conduct cultural events and I believe last year they collaborated and conducted a good cultural event in the Campbell hall. With the whole bollywood dances, folk dances, food and fund raising I think. </p>
<p>No you will not feel weird if you aren’t Indian, there are many non-Indians in these groups. Check both of them out, Indus is the hip cool one, and IASB is a little more classical/folk oriented. Both the organizations would love to see more participation from diverse backgrounds.</p>
