Bomb interview

My interview went so well. I had it at the cafe in Borders. The guy was a water polo player and swimmer. He asked me interesting questions, and had a lot to say about the social life because he graduated four years ago. We went over on time, and he said he'd write me a "very positive" letter.

Congrats! :)

thanks .

The title of this thread led me to believe that you "bombed" the interview, giving your interview experience a bad connotation. I guess it went well though. Congrats!

During my interview my interviewer was talking as if I had already been accepted.

Ex: I told him I wanted to go to law school and he replied...."well, once you've graduated from Princeton you can get in almost anywhere."

Is this a sign he's going to write me a postive letter? Or maybe more?

i doubt that a positive letter is going to matter much though :-

i hear princeton doesn't really place a lot of importance on its interview...yale and harvard are the only schools where interviews matter

where did you "hear" this from? how can any of us be so sure?

Mine's a phone interview, and I'm now waiting nervously for the call. (20minutes late already)

It's my first time to be interviewed by any school.

bites fingernails nervously

There's some good advice here from adides

Good luck

I just came back from my interview... I think that it went really well, too. It felt more like a "getting to know you" conversation instead of a question/answer session like my Duke interview. Now all that's left to do is sit back and wait...

elevenblanks: at the princeton info session the officer told us that since not everyone can get alumni interviews, they aren't weighted very much in the process. he also said that alumni tend to be over enthusiastic about applicants from their area so their recs are taken with a grain of salt. basically the interview is just used for pr purposes.
so yes, right from the horses mouth, we can be "so sure".

That is not true, interviewers can make or break an application to Princeton, hasn't anyone seen Risky Business??
