I was wondering if you guys think a book like this will be in demand. This year I have learned SO MUCH about American admission process (and specifics of International student admission) that it seems like a waist for me not to share some tips with future int. applicants (I applied to 26 colleges, had 17 interviews, received 4 full rides so far.) I applied to such a ridiculous amount of schools just because I NEED a full ride and I wanted to increase my chances of getting it.

Well, thank you for your feedback!!! I really appriciate your thoughs/advice.

I think it would be hard to write a book like that because the process varies so much for every international student. The challenges students face vary by country, admission requirements vary by university, potential sources of financial aid change every year, etc. If you want it to be more helpful than all the generic websites that are already out there, it would need huge collections of data which would have to be updated every single year. That’s not practical at all given that you could only hope to sell a couple of thousand copies every year at best.

I think the more appropriate format would be a website, possibly one that requires a subscription if you want it to generate revenue. But maintaining that website would be a full-time job…

The easier way to share your advice is to stick around College Confidential and answer questions :D

I agree that there are challenges of keeping up with the updates, different backgrounds of students and different requirments… And I don’t have time/resources/knowledge to keep a web-site Do you think it would be better to write a book tailored to one particular country? And just explain the overall process?
Definetely, CC is the way to help people Thank you so much for your comprehensive responce!

I think a generalized book which resonated at least to some extent with applicants from any country would have helped me a lot when I first started looking into things.

A general book would be kind of useless because there are already a lot of free resources explaining the general admission process. For example, the Department of State maintains a very comprehensive website: [International Students - EducationUSA](http://www.educationusa.state.gov/)
