Oh, Fangirl seems good! Yeahhhh I still haven’t read Divergent. I have to read I Am Malala for AP Lang and it’s really good.

Haha, I was talking about strong female characters in books for one of my college interviews, and I think my interviewer mentioned I Am Malala.

She’s definitely a strong female character, haha. I admire her a lot. She’s amazing.

Yeah, she’s survived so much, it’s amazing. She’s quite inspiring, partly because she’s done all that and she’s younger than me. Got to put it on my reading queue.

I’m in the middle of reading Allegiant and King of Thorns. Both are great so far, but I just have so little time to read at Christmas!

For me it’s the opposite. Apart from stuff like scholarship essays, my family doesn’t do anything. We don’t even go out of town. My friends mostly put off college essays until last minute so they don’t want me to bother them. That’s why I’m like on here a lot. Sadly, I kind of look forward to school starting again.

King of Thorns doesn’t seem to be my usual type of book, but maybe I might try it…

Interestingly enough, there’s a manga called King of Thorn which is on my reading queue for that sort of thing. And they’re not related. :P

Have you read the first book, Prince of Thorns? The series is The Broken Empire and they’re all really good, if perhaps a little graphically violent and gory…

No idea what you two are talking about, haha.

I think I read part of Prince of Thorns closer to when it came out, so I don’t remember much of it.

Did anyone else here read the Gemma Doyle series? I really enjoyed them but I haven’t run into many other fans. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who likes Victorian/historical books.

Redwall series was a childhood favorite. I also like Ender’s Game.

I’ve heard of Gemma Doyle. However, since I haven’t been interested in historical fiction in a while, I haven’t read that series.

I remember Redwall vaguely. I read that all through 6th grade.

I need to reread Ender’s Game.

I just finished Divergent, and I’m currently reading Insurgent.

I finished the Divergent trilogy. I. Don’t. Like. Tris. At. All. It doesn’t really help that her physical description sounds like a person I’m not good friends with anymore. I relate more with Four. I liked the ending though. The ideas were great too. I just didn’t like the narrator for most of the series. Maybe that’s a problem.

I’m beginning to dislike female protagonists in general… Like okay, great, you’re strong, you’re a good role model for other girls, but the thought process. Just no. Stop. Nobody’s that selfless. And the romance is just ugh.

It looks like they’re screwing up the Divergent movie. Tris is too tall, and not dirty blonde. Christina is too short. I think they picked a good Tori though.

I really want to read Divergent!! I just don’t have the time. :(

Four is 18 in the book, but the guy who plays him looks 25.

agreatperhaps, your name is a John Green reference like mine! high five

I’m okay with the older Four because I imagine him to look older than he actually is from the books. At least look older than Tris.

animpaffliction, I salute you, fellow nerdfighter. DFTBA!

high five!

agreatperhaps13, DFTBA! I’m psyched for the TFIOS movie!!! 6 months to go! :P
