What's the best text for AP Physics C? I've heard good things about
Giancoli.

Physics for Scientists and Engineers by Raymond A. Serway, John W. Jewett

ISBN-10: 0534408427
ISBN-13: 9780534408428

Any other suggestions? Or is Serway the way to go?

serway is what my HS had, and it was good

Apparently the Serway books started to suck when Jewett came along, so you should probably try to find an older Serway book that was written by only Serway.

Halliday and Resnick >>>>>>>> all

Halliday and Resnick is definitely the best for Physics C. I have also seen a lot of colleges using that textbook.

though for E and M you might want to consider University Physics (Young and Freedman)

Ugh, I personally hate Halliday Resnick. Sorry, maybe I'm just not seeing something or I'm not using the book properly. I dislike how formula derivation is almost always incomplete and explanations are ambiguous. I had to sit and decipher the language to understand what the book was saying. Serway is much more overt. I did not use the edition I suggested earlier (ISBN-13: 9780534408428). I used the 5th edition of that textbook (before Jewett came along, haha). I'm sure piccolojunior and eternity have far more insight than I do, but Haliday Resnick was my first Physics C textbook (my school uses it), and I had trouble throughout the whole year. I read Halliday, then I read Serway for clarification. It seems like you can't go wrong between the two books since piccolojunior is quite trusting of Halliday Resnick, and Serway is pretty awesome.

Mosca and Tipler! Resnick and Haliday is not bad either however this
is really cool.
