Hey guys, I'm thinking of taking the SAT II Literature test.

At this point in time, what is the best book for preparing for this test?

I don’t think there’s really a book that can prepare you for the SAT II Lit test. Honestly, I took one practice test (the one in the official blue book made by Collegeboard) and that was the extent of my studying. If you’re an avid reader with a decent sized vocabulary, you should be fine. It’s just a glorified version of reading comprehension. If you are in an honors/AP/IB course for English, you will have studied poetry and drama, two literary genres that tend to throw people off during the test. Just relax and read more! That’s what I did and I scored a 790 on the June 2013 test.

As well a response yours may be, I am still thinking about a book because I feel that I need something to study from for the test.

I used Barrons and it worked well, I scored a 740, but I did get an 800 on CR SATI so I am quite good at Lit. But it’s still very hard!

Alright, so I am going to think about Barron’s.

So you got a 740 on SAT Literature but 800 on SAT CR. What is a good score range for SAT Lit?

I think anything above 700 is very respectable, 750+ is likely as good as anything higher to an Admissions rep. I think it may be the hardest Subject test based on the curve?
