i would order it online and arrange for a pickup..so u dont waste money for shipping and have like 100lbs to add to your collection of stuff to bring to college

^^ what he said. although i think there still might be an extra fee to do that.

No I'm pretty sure picking up isn't extra. They just hold them for you.

But yeah, I'd still order them online as soon as you can so you make sure you get access to used books (which can sell out quickly) if you want them.

thanks!

I already bought two books for two classes, UCLA was asking $190 for NEW. I found them in Half.com in Like New condition for $67. They were shipped the next day, should be getting them next week.

Half.com = GOD

So.. if we are taking a lit class with about 10 books, does it matter what edition they are.. since they are all essentially the same story?

Jimmy2588: Im assuming you are talking about novels...then yes it doesn't matter. go for the dover thrift editions. it's the same story. although if its a foreign novel, I would look for the same translator's edition.

what about abebooks.com? anybody have any input on that site?

Jimmy2588, actually I would check with your professor before buying books that aren't the same edition as on the book list... some professors don't care, others do.

um, didnt know where to put this, but:

rosedust, please clear your inbox. i can't reply to your message (about chinese books and buying them online) cuz it's full
