Booklovers

ei, what are you guys reading at the moment? got much time to spare this week....can you name your fave books?

Im reading 'contact' right now. And just got done with 'digital fortress' which I really liked. Another book I read, just about a week ago was, 'the moon is a harsh mistress'. And besides those I read economics books.

uhh....you should read a book called "making your own decisions - for dummies"....hahaha jk....actually a good book is "a brief history of time"...its cool if ur into astrophysics

I already read "a brief history of time" by Bill Bryson lol. God I read to much.

Recently I finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, praised by many of the CC parents, but I didn't like it so much. right now I'm reading Catullus: An Interpretation by Kenneth Quinn.

Right now I'm re-reading Brothers Karamazov (and I will recommend this book until I die, I love it), reading Philokalia and The Way of the Pilgrim/The Pilgrim Continues His Way together (talk about a spiritual weekend), reading Misericordia (Benito Perez Galdos) for Spanish, and should be starting The Divine Comedy this weekend but haven't gotten around to it.

If you have the time, I really recommend Brothers K, it's one of those "life changing books." Otherwise, any other Dostoevsky, any Salinger (esp. Franny and Zooey), C.S. Lewis (esp. The Screwtape Letters and Till We Have Faces), Hermann Hesse, Jack Kerouac... Oooh, Brief Interviews With Hideous Men (David Foster Wallace) is great, as are Tobias Wolff short story books. Right, I could keep on going for a while, so I'll stop.

reading "The Wars" by Timothy Findley, quite one of the most emotionally stunning books ever. Would recommend it to everyone.

A side note: if you're going to read it (and you should), read it at least twice. There's so much that you don't pick up the first time around.

"The Forest People" by Colin Turnbull

A pretty good book as far as the anthropology genre goes.

Heart of Darkness by Joesph Conrad

anyone find that after college it's difficult to find spare time to read for leisure. I used to read frequently in high school, now all I read are textbooks. Though recently I've been reading this novel, The Runelords by David Farland while on the subway.

"The Agony and the Ecstasy"- Irving Stone

"The Fountainhead"- Ayn Rand

"The Time Traveler's Wife" - Audrey Niffenegger

"Rebecca"- Daphne DuMaurier
