A prayer for Owen Meany (Great book!)

Why?
I just finished it, had to read it for AP Lit. I thought that it sucked because a) it's too political, b) it's unrealistic, even though the story sounds pretty, c) the narrator is a total loser.
But why would it make anybody cry? Well, there's that finger cutting scene, but it's not that intense.

the ones i can remember for now....
Night
Flowers for Algernon
Great Gatsby....(i dont know.. i didnt really like it that much....but at the end when Gatsby died and nobody came to the funeral....and Nick..was that his name...was like:"dont worry im going to get u somebody"........im so glad i read that part at home instead of at school - -)
Couple other books....although in Chinese :)

lovely bones

on a related subject, what movies made you guys cry??? (i am talking real genuine tears of sadness, NOT joy, happiness, or laughter)

Yeah, this book didn't make me cry exactly...but I was a little hurt/mad.

Of Mice and Men (sadly)
Harry Potter 5
Harry Potter 6

Too Young to Die
Goodbye Doesn't Mean Forever

The last two go together. They are about a girl who is a junior in high school and is asked to join the Brain Bowl team. Then she finds out that she has lukemia and has to stay in the hospital for months. Finally she takes the PSAT and qualifies as a National Merit Semi-finalist and eventually dies (crying part) then her best friend finds out that she would of been a National Merit Scholar and probably would have gotten into Princeton (her dream school). I guess it was so sad because I could relate so well and I was like OMG things can change so quickly and I hope that doesn't happen to me!

Harry Potter 6 (when Dumbledore dies)
The Amber Spyglass (when Lyra and Will have to part)
Flowers for Algernon (so sad)

Thats it.
