When do you buy books for your courses, and where? Just wondering...my s is going to orientation for summer and I wondered what students usually do. Are there discount places to buy text books? How much do they usually cost for a semester?

Thanks!

You can purchase textbooks from the University bookstore https://www.bkstr.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11003&demoKey=d or Bill's bookstore Welcome | Bills Bookstore either new or used. If you can determine the correct ISBN and edition of a text book, you can use online stores such as amazon.com or half.com to get used copies. Some students will send emails out to fellow students to sell textbooks too.

Some students wait until they attend the course to see if they really need the book. Some courses require you pay for web site access or they use a PRS.

Textbooks (even used) cost more than the $225 allowance for the 100% BF scholarship.

Thanks a lot - this really helps!

Used text books (not needed for future reference) can usually be sold back to the bookstores or even on eBay after the semester. You don't get much back, but its better than nothing.

Uloop.com, FSU run website where kids from FSU sell their books online for great prices! Great Website!
