Books

Is it better to buy used books online right now for classes? or is it better to wait at purchase them from ppl at berkeley trying to get rid of books? thx

Its up to you, but make sure you are getting the right books. Last year one of my profs decided to change the list a couple of days before the class started. So be careful. It may also be cheaper to buy them from ppl who are trying to get rid of them, and plus you can look at them to see if they are in decent condition, and you get them that day. The last thing you need is fro shipping to take forever.

buying books from ppl? not the student store?

www.comegetused.com is a great place to buy books from other students at the last minute!

oh so is it easy to get my books if i wait till welcome week? or is that too late?

Thats plenty of time. Some ppl even wait till after welcome week to buy. I dont think 1st years should do this.

That and Fall Extension hasn't had their schedules confirmed yet, and I am getting impatient...

One general question about books: When does books usually get their versions updated? Beginning of Fall or beginning of Spring?

Most Professors tend to use the newest version, so in that case, buying a used book wouldn't work too well.
