Just as a side note about selling books back:

A friend of mine once sold her books back on Amazon.com, and got way more back than the local stores were offering, one of them she even got MORE for than she paid.

Don’t wait to sell books back. If you, for example, take a class fall 2010, and wait to sell the book back the next year, it will go down in price or possibly not be accepted for sellback. If the course updates their book, they will not buy back older editions.

Also search online. You might find a better price.

Look online for electronic editions, such as [Google Books](http://books.google.com/) - you might get lucky, depending on how old the book is. Probably have better luck if it’s for english and a classic novel, but never hurts to look.

Go in on the book with a friend, and share it/do homework together.

I worked for the official bookstore for a semester, and I remember correctly, when you sell back books to them, they give you 50% of the NEW price of the book, no matter if it was used or new when you bought it. Ask if they still do this, because it might be the best price for a sellback you could get.
