I still have a year until I have to apply for colleges, and I know I can improve my test scores, but what else can I do to boost my college resume?

I’m hoping to be a 1693 Scholar at William and Mary, but (coming from out of state) I’m already at a disadvantage. Does anyone have any advice for building a strong resume in general?

You are looking like a great competitive candidate already! I would say continue to delve deeper into the ECs you have been involved in and keep up the good work on the PSAT and you may qualify for the National Merit Scholarship at most schools. The 1693 Scholars program is incredibly competitive and only like 10 students are selected each year. The good news is you are competitive to regular admission into the college, but know that there are so many candidates that apply. They are looking for students with intellectual curiosity so start thinking about what you are curious about and how you can exhibit that.
